Name: Iris Van Kerckhove

Job title: Senior Digital Marketing Manager

Join date: April 2021

What do you do in your role at Allinfra?

As Senior Digital Marketing Manager, I take a digital-first approach to Allinfra’s marketing. At this point in time, Allinfra is still an early-stage startup. So my primary focus is growing its digital presence and its audience, as well as building out the marketing and sales funnel. Achieving this goal includes utilising content marketing, social media, SEO and more. We occasionally do some traditional marketing, such as PR and events, but always in a way that fits into our overall digital strategy.

What do you enjoy about your role?

Allinfra is made up of smart, collaborative and forward-thinking people. As someone in my field, it’s a pleasure to work with a team that understands and supports the latest marketing practices, as the way to reach people has – and continues – to evolve. I also enjoy the fact that I have the opportunity to work with both the business team and the tech team to best achieve our goals and amplify Allinfra’s brand and key messaging.

What has been your biggest accomplishment or favorite project at Allinfra?

My favorite is probably the new allinfra.com website that was launched in October 2021. It was truly a team effort and we worked together very well, creating a far superior website that better tells the Allinfra story and helps us achieve business goals. This website will continue to improve and our work is not yet done, but I’m really proud of it so far.

Why did you choose to join Allinfra?

I actually wasn’t planning on joining another startup when I came across Allinfra. But something caught my interest. I was impressed by the founding team and thought that, by creating blockchain-based climate technology, this company was doing something special because the tech was both bleeding-edge and solving important problems. After talking to Dave and Bill, I was sold!

What’s the most unique part about working here?

While a lot of the world has experienced WFH in the last two years during the pandemic, I think it’s very different working on a remote-first team versus a traditional team that is temporarily remote. There is a very mutually respectful attitude on this team combined with performance-based work culture. It’s not about facetime – not even virtual facetime. It's really about a group of good people coming together to do great work.

How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t working?

Spending time with the people I care about and making custom memes about my Hong Kong rescue dog, Baby Girl. (Only 3 people find them funny but that’s OK.)

What’s the greatest bit of professional advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t be afraid to say no in business. The best leaders and most successful companies have the confidence to say no to the wrong clients/investors/partnerships.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?

I created and sold a website when I was a teeanger. Not for a lot of money but it was a cool accomplishment at a young age, and actually explains a lot about what I do for a living today.
