Name: Ryan Chan

Job Title: Full Stack Engineer

Join Date: August 2021

What do you do in your role at Allinfra?

I am working as a full stack engineer at Allinfra. I work on both front-end and back-end development, and am also involved in other areas including architecture design, performance/security evaluation and code review.

What do you enjoy about your role?

As the projects require cutting-edge technologies, we face different challenging problems everyday. I love solving problems, especially together with a great team like this one.

What has been your biggest accomplishment or favorite project at Allinfra?

I only had a basic understanding of blockchain technology before joining Allinfra. After working with the team, I learnt a lot about cryptography and blockchain from them.

Why did you choose to join Allinfra?

Before joining Allinfra, all I knew about blockchain projects were NFT or cryptocurrency-related, like the exchanges. But Allinfra is working on something special that is using blockchain-based climate monitoring, and I was impressed by that idea.

What’s the most unique part about working here?

I think the remote-first culture is the most unique part about working here. We have high productivity and motivation.

How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t working?

Before the pandemic, I enjoyed hiking. Now I like to spend my spare time with my family watching movies or dramas on Netflix.

What’s the greatest bit of professional advice you’ve ever been given?

Learn and be curious. We don’t need to have all the answers, but we do need to be curious.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?

I have a master’s and bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, but not computer science.
