In 2021, Allinfra collaborated with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Innovation Hub and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) on Genesis – a landmark project that explored the use of blockchain and IoT technologies to drive transparency of green investments. It concluded successfully with two prototypes for green bond tokenization, with Allinfra providing the technology for the gathering and reporting of verifiable data for both.

Following on from this success, BIS Innovation Hub’s Hong Kong Centre – partnering with the UN Climate Change Global Innovation Hub – has initiated the project Genesis 2.0 to explore the use of blockchain, smart contracts and other related technologies to develop a prototype for tracking, delivery and transfer of digitised Mitigation Outcome Interests (MOI). You can learn more about this project here.

Team Allinfra is very pleased to announce that we will be collaborating with BIS Innovation Hub on this project. To be completed by COP 27 in November 2022, Allinfra, along with Goldman Sachs and Digital Asset, will make up one of two consortia that will develop solutions that digitally track real-time mitigation outcome data linked to a bond lifecycle, providing transparency and reducing the risk of greenwashing.
